Laboratory Assistant (Casual Positions) — Waitara, Hornsby Area

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Laboratory Assistants to join our Alexandria, NSW team on a casual basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our sample preparation section, where you will prepare and analyse soil, water, and air samples. NSWJobsConnect Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to: Conduct routine sample preparations for soil, water, and air analyses, including the handling of acids, solvents, and other reagents. Ensure timely completion of work, adhering to due dates. Comply with analytical methods and maintain quality management systems. Prepare standards and reagents. Perform sample analysis and accurately record data and results. Assist chemists and supervisors with various tasks, such as instrument loading and waste disposal. Adhere to all SGS QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) and HR policies and procedures. Qualifications Certificate IV (TAFE) or equivalent qualification. One to two years of laboratory experience or a similar background. Strong methodical approach and enjoys routine work. Analytical and detail-oriented. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning. Team-oriented with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. Possession of a current driver's license. Additional Information: Casual position with an expected minimum of 4 hours per day during peak hours. Ideal for university/TAFE students and candidates looking for part-time work.
