The GHD Northern Australia, Transport Group is continuing to grow, and we currently have a position available for a Senior / Lead Civil Design Technician to join the team and provide leadership, guidance and assistance in the delivery of projects from concept stage through to construction. As a Senior / Lead Civil Design Technician within the Transport group, it is expected that you will undertake project work, including preparation of documentation for proposals, reports and business documentation as well as provide technical review, input and support for proposal and project delivery. Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond. The role will be an additional resource in an existing and very experienced civil design team and will predominantly be involved in: Providing up front documentation strategies and frameworks to improve the efficiency of design and documentation for major transport infrastructure projects. Overseeing and facilitating knowledge sharing including mentoring junior team members. Ensuring project design and documentation complies with client design and drafting standards. What you will bring to the team Relevant experience in Civil Engineering and have a passion for efficient documentation delivery through the setup of automated and streamlined processes. A demonstrated history as a Senior/Lead Civil Drafter leading transport infrastructure projects An excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and its integration with 12D Well-developed communication skills Being a team player, with the ability to build rapport with and inspire others Assisting junior drafters within the team by mentoring, training and checking their work as required Ideally the successful candidate shall have more than 10 years’ experience in a Senior/Lead Design Drafter role within an engineering consultancy where you have successfully delivered drawings within the Transport sector.
