As the Water and Sewer Designer, you will be responsible for the planning and design of water and sewer infrastructure across the Central Coast Community. You will use your well developed communication skills in managing external consultants and providing technical advice, stakeholder management and presentation of all stages of the design process. You will have the opportunity to get out and about in the great outdoors to undertake field inspections, ensuring accuracy of plans and designs that are to be delivered in line with the works program. You are the designer we are looking for if you like the challenge of being responsible for the investigation, survey and design of water and sewer infrastructure and have a sound understanding of Australian Standards. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. Key activities of this role include: Provide technical advice, plan designs, provide concept designs and modelling, coordinate and prioritise work to ensure that Council’s water and sewer infrastructure is delivered in a professional, effective and efficient manner within agreed time frames Carry out field inspections as required in order to deliver accurate plans and designs Preparation, interpretation and analysis of designs and specifications to ensure detailed estimates and project requirements Scope development and monitoring compliance of external design consultants, in regards to design intent, constructability, safety, quality and regulatory standards in all documentation About you: You may have a Diploma qualification in Civil Engineering OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role Previous experience in the successful design delivery of a range of infrastructure and/or service projects Design experience in projects of significant complexity with a political environment with differing stakeholders You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others Having a work/life balance is important to you What we offer: Weekly pay cycle Generous leave provisions: 20 days paid Annual Leave, 15 days Sick Leave/Carers Leave, Health and Wellbeing Leave, Long Service Leave after 5 years, Additional purchased leave, Parental Leave – 18 weeks full pay/36 weeks ½ pay, Paternity Leave - 2 weeks Novated leasing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to employees and their families Fitness Passport – access to gyms across the Central Coast and Newcastle Health and wellbeing programs – skin cancer screening, Breastscreen, Flu vaccination, blood donations Recognition of service Professional Development opportunities Individual career development and learning opportunities Reward and Recognition programs. This role provides a commencing salary range of between $82.9k to $99.5k per annum dependent on skills and experience 11% superannuation. A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role. with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
