Join the teamAn exciting opportunity to join Kmart as a UX/UI Designer, Innovation & Experience Design where you will be directly involved in designing the future of Kmart and Target We understand the significance of every interaction in our network of stores, and our team members are at the forefront of achieving this objective. Based in Mulgrave and our Southland innovation store, you'll collaborate with IT, Central Operations, Stores, CX, Store Design, and technology vendors and will report directly to the Service Design Lead who works closely on strategic programs for the Group. We're not just seeking a UI/UX Designer; we're on the lookout for individuals who are driven, curious, and genuinely excited about technology and driving operational change If you're passionate about creating seamless, user-centric designs and envision yourself thriving in an environment that fosters innovation, then we'd love to hear from you What you'll be doing: As a UI/UX Designer at Kmart Group, you will: Understand user needs deeply to model experiences that not only meet these needs but are also feasible to incrementally roll out at scale, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation. Facilitate design reviews and usability testing sessions with end users to gather valuable insights and feedback. You will also confidently present back to both squads and stakeholders about key changes and design decisions. Understand the needs of in-store users throughout their journey, ensuring their satisfaction at every touchpoint. Conduct user testing and iterate designs based on feedback and data analysis. Actively engage in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, planning meetings, showcases, and retrospectives. Collaborate closely with the team to design seamless end-to-end experiences that prioritize user satisfaction and profitability. Work closely with the squad to align designs with their expectations and objectives. You will collaborate with designers, researchers, and subject matter experts to gather insights and drive user-centred design. Develop and communicate clear and understandable user journey maps and other artefacts of experiences for the team and stakeholders. Utilise our UI design system, ensuring all UI designs meet readiness criteria before development begins, maintaining high standards of quality and usability. To be successful in this role you'll have: Minimum 5 years' experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and achievements. A Bachelor's degree in Design or a relevant field preferred. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Photoshop Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a focus on usability and accessibility. Ability to conduct user requirements analysis including gathering insights, creating user scenarios and task analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams. Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with agile methodologies. Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where priorities may shift rapidly, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in rapid digital prototyping, showcasing a deep understanding of design thinking principles. A proven track record of collaborating across disciplines and driving projects to successful completion.
