Collaborate with engineers to review, optimise, and maintain critical code components. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive technical innovation within the team. Define and execute the engineering team's delivery strategy, ensuring initiatives are completed on time and within scope. Implement agile methodologies to improve efficiency and delivery predictability. Monitor initiative progress and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and overcome obstacles. Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain high code quality and security. Implement code review processes to identify and address quality issues early in the development lifecycle. Continuously assess and improve the quality of software products through automated testing and other quality assurance practices. Team Leadership and Cross Functional Collaboration Lead a team of 5 highly skilled engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members to help them grow and excel in their roles. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where team members feel motivated and engaged. Lead the development and execution of the engineering team's strategic initiatives, aligning them with the company's long-term goals. Identify emerging technologies and trends that can drive innovation and competitive advantage. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability within the engineering team. Set clear objectives, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with overall business goals. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical and business objectives. Act as a liaison between the engineering team and the broader tech community, participating in conferences, meetups, and knowledge sharing events. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 6 years proven experience in Java software development, with a deep understanding of best practices and code quality. Prior experience in a leadership role, managing and developing engineering teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to balance technical and leadership responsibilities effectively. Passionate about leadership, collaboration and innovation. Bonus if you have Experience with agile methodologies and management tools. Familiarity with DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment. Demonstrated success in delivering complex software on time and within allocated budget
