About the Company This company has a large portfolio of renewable energy assets under development as well as operating assets across multiple generation technology types. Their retail business provides long- energy supply agreements, energy trading, risk management and asset management services to business customers. About the role To lead and manage the engineering team with crucial engineering processes and contribution to strategic decisions to support the growth of Asset Development across Solar, Wind, BESS and Hybrid projects, aligning with the teams within each of the Renewable and Flexible Generation Global Business Units (GBU). The Engineering Manager will provide and coordinate technical and engineering input into the identification, due diligence, development, and delivery of power generation assets. These technical and engineering inputs will include technology selection, balance of plant design, grid connection works, development of technical documentation to support procurement activities, and overview of installation, construction, commissioning, testing of works, warranty and operational support of existing and new projects.Responsibilities Design, coordinate and deliver on Engineering & Technical work packages in support of project acquisition efforts, our existing project developments, and general business activities; Support the identification and evaluation of business growth opportunitites (primary generation assets) and their value in support of asset goals. Lead technical workstreams of new project developments Manage engineering deliverables Provide guidance and support as required Manage/liase with internal and external stakeholder Knowledge, Skills and Experience Tertiary degree in relevant discipline 10-15 year’s experience relevant to the requirements. Experience in energy projects in the Australian market. Experience with different facets of engineering – design, development, technology, and specification Experience in implementing engineering design, asset development, policy, and regulation. Renewable (or other) project development experience Strong management and coordination skills and ability Project management and project risk management Sound knowledge and understanding of the national electricity market including drivers and risks.
