About the role:We are looking for an experienced lawyer to act as in-house counsel providing legal services to the Corporation.You’ll help the legal team provide high quality legal services to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. What the role will involve: Providing strategic advice to the Water Corporation on its existing business and its growth areasBriefing independent bar and external law firms as requiredFacilitating the negotiation and settlement of legal related matters between the Water Corporation and external parties on commercial termsPreparing legal agreements and documents, including Water Supply Agreements to key customersAdvising on contentious litigationEnsuring that all legal advice and services provided is objective, independent and complies with professional conduct rules About you:To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive legislative and legal services coordination and advice within a large commercial organisation. Highly developed skills in the areas of communication and negotiation will be essential to the role.We are looking for someone with a Bachelor of Law degree, who holds a current practice certificate.
