The Company: A large financial services organisation based in Melbourne CBD are looking for a Senior Inclusive Designer to join the team. This large, mature design practice value innovation, customer research and inclusive, accessible design. You'll join a close-knit design community with regular opportunities to share ideas and collaborate. The working arrangements are hybrid, with 2-3 days a week in the Melbourne office. About the Role: Inclusive Design is a huge focus for the bank, and this newly created role will be instrumental in their mission to bake accessibility and inclusion into the design process. Working closely with the Principal Inclusive Designer and the Design Systems team, you'll champion accessibility and inclusive design across all digital platforms. You'll influence and educate team members, steering accessibility policy within the organisation, attending design briefs on multiple projects, working with external bodies and presenting at events. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring that all digital product designs meet international web accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.2 to AA standard Support the design process to ensure inclusivity in all products and services, considering diverse customer needs including those with disabilities Assist with user research and usability testing with a diverse range of users,, to gather insights for improving accessibility and user experience Collaborating with various teams to promote accessibility standards Work closely with the Principal to educate and train internal teams on the importance of accessibility and inclusive design and advocating for these principles in all projects Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels about the importance and impact of inclusive design Support with the development of accessibility guidelines in line with current standards and legal requirements. Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the effectiveness of accessibility initiatives Your Skills & Experience: 5 years of experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in aesthetic, inclusive and accessible design. Excellent knowledge of WCAG 2.2 guidelines and how to apply them to complex digital experiences. Proven experience in design projects and collaborating with large, multidisciplinary teams. Large corporations experience preferred. Proven presentation and persuasion skills, with the ability to articulate the value of inclusive design to various stakeholders. Strong in design and prototyping tools, as well as familiarity with front-end development practices and how they impact accessibility.
