Firbank Grammar is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time ( 0.40 FTE ) EAL Teacher to work in our Senior School in a fixed-term position, from Term 2 until the end of Term 4, 2024 . We are looking for someone who is passionate about the education and wellbeing of students and applying the best practice for our students to achieve success. The key role of this job is to provide engaging and thoughtful lessons, following planned activities in accordance with the faculty syllabi and school priorities. You will work within an experienced and engaged Department and provide a flexible approach to classroom methodology, which will involve a variety of strategies to deliver the curriculum. Demonstrated high level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning are essential. Key responsibilities: Demonstrate passion for teaching in the EAL field Identify individual learning needs Teach in a way that enables all students to succeed Provide an appropriate role model for students in terms of punctuality, dress and conduct Observe safe work practices, maintain a safe and supportive environment Key Attributes Flexibility and adaptability Effective communication skills Strong organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively Understands obligations in relation to Health and Safety and meets expectations Qualifications and Experience Current VIT registration Experience teaching EAL First Aid Certificate This is a part time (FTE 0.4) fixed-term role at our Brighton Senior School Campus.
