TRP: $134,630 to $150,259 (TRP is inclusive of 3.5% civil liability allowance, payment for reasonable additional hours and superannuation). In addition, a leaseback vehicle will be offered. About us Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces. About the role In your new role, you will be part of and contribute to a team that supports the organisation by providing all necessary construction activities for Council’s Improvements Program (Civil Works) and other projects in accordance with Council’s specifications, policies, planning instruments, state and federal codes and requirements. The position services staff and management in the Construction team of the Design and Construction Branch by programming and supervising contract works and maintaining contracts for the Infrastructure and Major Projects Division. The Project Manager has 4 major functions: 1. To plan and manage preconstruction activities 2. To plan and manage construction 3. To call tenders, manage contracts and approve payments 4. To monitor and report on the performance of contractors About you We require a pro-active, enthusiastic person who has sound project management skills and experience in the supervision of staff and contractors in carrying out road and drainage construction. The person in this position requires the ability to apply the WHS Act and Regulations. Experience in building construction is considered desirable. The role requires the programming and supervision of contractors involved in civil infrastructure and building works and competence in preparing tender documents, writing specifications, reports and administration of contracts. Strong oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. In addition, this position requires a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil), eligible for Corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or other relevant qualifications and experience.
