About the department Novo Nordisk Oceania is a dynamic and high-performing team devoted to improving the lives of patients living with diabetes, obesity, and other serious chronic diseases. The Legal and Compliance department ensures that our organization complies with the legal and regulatory requirements of the countries in which we operate. Our team is devoted to securing and leveraging the organization's key assets and business interests while ensuring ethical conduct and compliance with relevant regulations. Reporting to Director of Legal, Compliance, Quality - Oceania. The position This position will be in charge of providing professional legal advice, and counselling to the business on a broad spectrum of relevant projects within a highly regulated environment including assistance within the clinical trial function. Your main responsibilities include but not limited to: Manage all legal and compliance matters related to the Clinical Development Centre (CDC) Oceania priorities, representing CDC Oceania in various regional, global legal and compliance forums/networks, and advise business partners on clinical, commercial, and medical initiatives to ensure alignment with Novo Nordisk's strategy while addressing legal risks. Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements for the business, providing solutions-focused and pragmatic legal advice on a range of issues, including contract interpretation and compliance with laws and regulations, while also monitoring and advising on changes to legislation and regulations. Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical trials, healthcare law, and related business operations, staying informed about evolving legislation and regulations, while offering practical, solution-oriented legal support to Novo Nordisk's internal clients during contract preparation and negotiation, and contributing to the development of legal templates, training materials, and relevant intranet content for internal training and upskilling. Generate reports, presentations, spreadsheets, memorandums, and other documents for the Legal and Compliance Department, internal/external clients, and senior stakeholders as requested. Undertake additional responsibilities and duties based on affiliate priorities and/or the Director of Legal, Compliance, and Quality. Qualifications Law Degree from University Law School. Postgraduate studies in clinical trials are desirable. Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' legal experience, preferably with some experience in the pharmaceutical and/or clinical trials regulation. Demonstrated experience in healthcare industry Business Ethics and Compliance, encompassing a working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and the ability to advise on statutes, guidance, and ethical standards in pharmaceuticals and clinical trials. Ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations, collaborate in a fast-paced environment, work independently with professionalism, and handle confidential information with discretion and judgment. Strong skills in drafting, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, with a robust business acumen, effective verbal and written communication, self-motivated, independent, and willingness to take on new responsibilities.
