Council’s Urban Design team’s function is to facilitate quality urban design led outcomes in the public and private realm that improve the functionality, liveability, sustainability and public contribution of places and spaces. About the role: · You will facilitate quality urban design led outcomes in the public and private realm that improve the functionality, liveability, sustainability and public contribution of our places and spaces. · Deliver concept and detailed design plans and documentation for a diverse range of activity centre-based upgrade and renewal projects. · Provide specialist design advice that furthers Banyule’s desired urban design and landscape design outcomes. · Actively contribute to the culture of design excellence in Banyule. Skills, experience and certificates: · A degree or diploma in urban design, landscape architecture, or other relevant discipline. · Experience working on complex urban design projects, preferably in a local government setting. · Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing consultants. · Ability to undertake a broad range of tasks and to provide accurate and timely advice on a range of public realm urban design related matters. · Substantial knowledge of Standards, Codes of Practice and including appropriate legislation, processes and practices relating to urban and civil design and engineering. · Demonstrated stakeholder and technical issue resolution skills in the development and implementation of urban design projects.
