The position will provide services to medical, surgical and women’s health wards.   The Level 1/2 social worker is able to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters. They may require direct professional supervision from more senior staff members when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks.   The Level 1/2 social worker will assist in the development of policies, procedures, standards and practices. Essential Requirements: Qualification:  Bachelor of Social Work Registration:  Eligibility of Australian Association of Social Work Selection Criteria: Demonstrated clinical experience in social work assessment, crisis intervention and counselling. Sound knowledge of the impact of chronic illness, disability, treatment and hospitalisation on patients and families Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes. Well-developed time management skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and high level computer literacy. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships. Commitment to professional supervision, building professional skills and capacity, and willingness to seek appropriate guidance and direction. Knowledge of quality assurance and / or clinical practice improvement activities.
