The Melbourne Distribution Centre (MBDC) currently has an opportunity for an energetic and committed Warehouse Supervisor (internally referred to as a Warehouse Coach) to join the facility based in Tullamarine. The facility houses more than 250,000 Caterpillar parts, that primarily service the dealer network throughout the Australian and South Pacific region. The Warehouse Coach will form part of an experienced front line supervisory team, who are energetic and eager to drive a positive employee experience and engagement. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary responsibility of the Warehouse Coach is to provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to approximately 20 warehouse associates to meet internal and external dealer requirements and facility metrics. Other responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to): - Employee safety and wellbeing - Management of all warehouse day-to-day activities, including achieving of KPI's - Performing warehousing/logistics reporting activities, including analysing operational data - Workforce and operational planning - Reaching productivity objectives/targets within the Coaches process area - Collaborating with process partners to ensure high level objectives are met on a daily basis To be successful in this position you must possess the following: - Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring a group of employees - Prior experience working in warehousing/logistics/supply chain environment - Proven performance management experience - Thorough experience in driving engagement, recognition and team building - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong customer focus - Possess Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency In addition, the below personal attributes would be advantageous: - Strong computer and analytical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) - Demonstrated report writing abilities - An understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Management or 6 Sigma - Further education/training in Warehousing Distribution, Logistics and/or Management As this position is a leadership role, you will be required to drive change, mentor, coach and lead continuous improvement whilst adhering to Caterpillar's 'Values in Action'.
