Our Exciting Opportunity: The Construction Manager is responsible for managing field crews on a day-to-day basis achieving project build landmarks, at a competitive cost, at high quality and in a safe manner. Responsibilities cover overseeing the whole build life-cycle, from receiving the designs, planning and managing the build, to completion and acceptance. In this role, you would: Analyse designs to determine the scope of works to be completed. Call out design issues. Compile build quotes and plans to ensure design outcomes are achieved, whilst adhering to HSE requirements. Work in close alignment with Construction Coordinators by providing instructions and overseeing day-to-day tasks. Ensure plant, equipment and consumable materials are arranged. Ensure outage windows are planned and managed. Ensure support services are planned and managed, e.g. civil and electrical contractors. Schedule work for field crews and ensure build works are performed efficiently to required quality and technical standards within allocated time. Act as 1st point of escalation for issues encountered by Construction Manager 1's. Ensure builds are completed and all breakthroughs are achieved. Identify and raise build variations. Drive a quality culture (doing things 1st time right) among the field crews and sub-contractors (ASPs). Arrange for defects to be resolved. Continually seek opportunities to improve build effectiveness and efficiency, whilst lowering costs. Drive a culture of safe working and HSE compliance among internal and external workforce. Work closely with Ericsson project teams throughout all phases of the build lifecycle. Regular reporting on build progress, delays, issues encountered, variations, and risks identified to project stakeholders. Attend all project related meetings (e.g. delivery, defects, toolbox sessions, etc.). Compliance with HSE requirements. Achieve build time, cost and quality targets. Manage other Construction Manager 1's and act as the interface between the Construction Manager 3 and Construction Manager 1's. As our ideal candidate, you will have: Tertiary qualification, e.g. Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, Management, Finance, Project Management, or similar. Industry project management certification, e.g. PMP, Prince 2 Good digital literacy skills (MS Office software suite) and certifications in HSE, etc. Good understanding of mobile networks and ability to analyse and decipher mobile network designs. Experience running field-based teams, preferably in building mobile wireless networks. People leadership experience. Experience in, or overseeing, telco network build projects in Australia. Good knowledge of HSE aspects when building telco networks, e.g. working at heights and with EME. Experience with Greenfields telco builds and Civil construction. Financial management experience. Excellent prioritisation and time management. Well organised with effective planning skills and ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment. Good interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills. Ability to interact with people at different levels inside and outside the organization, and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
