About the roleThe purpose of this role is to provide Social Work clinical services, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, to the patients across the health service to optimise psychosocial outcomes and achieve maximum healthcare benefits for patients and families. Clinical services are delivered in a manner that ensures the social, emotional, cultural and environmental circumstances of the patient and/or their carer are valued and fosters professional and ethical excellence. Skills and experience Competent level of knowledge of social work practice theories, social legislation and a competent level of expertise and skill in social work clinical practice. Provide general clinical advice to multidisciplinary team members regarding social work services and to engage in, develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with team members and peers. Problem-solve and exercise risk management where customer risk is identified, by utilising evidence-based practice. Role requirements The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1. Roster: The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in rotation across clinical areas and campuses, On-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical On-call Roster, which requires a 30-minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night), as well as weekends and public holidays.
