We are looking for a passionate Sommelier & Bar Manager to step up their game and join us at Compa, one of Canberra’s most exciting restaurants to date. COMPA, an Italian style steakhouse, is built on a simple, often forgotten pairing: good food and good wine. In conjunction with the venue manager, you will be responsible for sharing your knowledge and providing exceptional wine service to help bring the Compa story to life. Your expertise in wines from around the world, and particularly from Australia and Italy, will help you guide guests toward memorable food and wine pairings that enhance their dining experience. The position also includes management of the wine and beverage inventory and training of the team in all aspects of the beverage offerings. Supervision of bar, floor and function staff Manage wine and beverage inventory Ensure standards of excellence are achieved regarding customer service, staff presentation and grooming Lead by example and mentor/guide new colleagues Help and support the team on the floor and in the bar when required About You 2 Years management position in a high quality bar. Extensive knowledge of Spirits and Cocktail creation and making. Expertise in wines from around the world, specializing in selections from Australia and Italy.
