In this role, you will offer expert guidance on legal, compliance, and regulatory issues relevant to the corporate aspects of MACS operations. It is essential that your advice is commercially relevant, delivered in a timely manner, and considers the broader implications for the entire organisation and its stakeholders. You will be expected to bring an innovative mindset to the delivery of legal services including embracing different delivery models to enhance the efficiency of the legal function. The ideal candidate for this position will embrace a culture that encourages proactive problem-solving approaches and possess a legal background, with a focus on commercial law including privacy and data protection. Your ability to think creatively, adapt to evolving challenges, and effectively communicate legal concepts will be critical to your success. WHAT YOU WILL DO Develop internal relationships with clients as a trusted and valued advisor Provide strategic legal input into business decisions and evaluate whether commercial decisions have adequately considered legal risk and liabilities Assist in ensuring that appropriate legal policies and practices are in place to manage the legal obligations and legal risks (with a particular focus on privacy and data governance) of MACS Act as the first point of contact for advice on privacy matters Provide privacy advice in relation to projects that may have an impact on an individual’s personal information ABOUT YOU Demonstrated problem-solving approach – focusing on how to get things done and finding solutions; bringing the attitude of a business enabler to the business You have exceptional organisational skills and focus, including a capacity to prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently and manage time in accordance with strict deadlines with a meticulous eye for detail Possesses business acumen, with an ability to understand the MACS organisation and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various settings Strong commercial and customer service mindset driving all key decisions and communication with key stakeholders with an ability to influence commercial outcomes HOW TO APPLY Please refer to the position description for further details about the role and the Key Selection Criteria.
