Appointment Type: Full Time, Continuing Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, Dharug land, North Ryde THE ROLE This is a key role in the Academic Library Services Unit of Macquarie University Library, leading a team of librarians to support the Faculty of Arts and the Macquarie School of Business with discipline specific in-depth advice and support to researchers, teaching staff, postgraduate and graduate research students. As a member of the Library's Management Team, this role is responsible for development, delivery and evaluation of the Library's information, advisory, consultancy, engagement and outreach services to students and University staff in the Faculties. The role is a key connection point between the faculties and the Library, representing the Library at Faculty Committees and working groups and providing expert advice to the Library senior management regarding the information, collection and service needs specific to the Faculty of Arts and the Business School. About You You will bring your extensive management and leadership experience to foster a people-focused culture that reflects the Library values and lead the provision and integration of high-quality education and research services. Your deep knowledge of current and emerging trends and issues impacting the the sector and strong analytical and synthesis skills will inform the development of policy, guidelines and best practice to ensure the Library provides high-quality, timely, relevant and expert advice and support. Your strong ability to collaborate with Academics and other key stakeholders, and develop purposeful partnerships across the Library and University will be essential in leading the development and embedding of information and digital literacies within the curricula and research skills programs. Your knowledge of scholarly communication and digital scholarship and experience in evaluating information resources will ensure Library collections meet disciplinary education and research needs. Your proven track record for implementing solutions, managing complex projects, and your highly developed organisation skills are essential to ensure the implementation of successful, client-focused service improvements and initiatives to meet future demands and needs. Extensive experience leading innovative and high performing teams to achieve organisational goals, and to continuously improve services and client experience Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends, issues and best practice in academic library education and research services, with a proven ability to apply to the design and delivery of effective and innovative programs and services. Proven ability in developing and implementing strategically aligned complex projects and delivering to tight timeframes. Experience in evaluating information resources to ensure Library collections meet disciplinary education and research needs. Demonstrated skills and experience in building and successfully managing complex partnerships with campus and Faculty stakeholders and contributing to University committees, programs and projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills and demonstrated excellence in business writing.
