They are able to provide clinical services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. The Level 3 Social Work Team Leader is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operates autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision. The position is involved with planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services in Acute Stroke and Aged Care team, Geriatric Medicine Department. The Level 3 Social Work Team Leader has a consultative role within the area of Acute Geriatric Medicine patients across Westmead Hospital and is involved in the implementation of protocols, initiatives, policies and procedures. Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) Selection Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Demonstrated ability and skills in team leadership and management including extensive experience in staff and student supervision. Demonstrated high level clinical experience in aged care social work services with an understanding of age related illnesses, Elder abuse, Guardianship matters, NDIS matters, grief and bereavement, accommodation placements and complex familial presentations. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education. Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stake holders throughout all organisational levels. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff. Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service.
