ECMS is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Practice Coach with subject matter expertise in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline to join the team on a full-time basis. This position will be contracted for two years with the possibility of extension to ongoing. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the learning journey in our growing organisation. This relational role serves to progress evidenced based practice across School Readiness Funding outcomes. Practice Coaches are part of the Early Childhood Education team and play an important role in ensuring ECMS deliver upon our commitment to show consistently good learning outcomes? for all children. At ECMS we now boast a truly interdisciplinary team of pedagogical and practice leaders, family and trauma consultants, allied health professionals and cross-cultural consultancy. We learn from each other, building our own capabilities, and join hands to create safe learning spaces for our teaching teams to challenge what they do and consider how their decisions may affect children differently. In 2023 our ongoing innovation and approach to relational practice was recognised when bestowed the prestigious Emeritus Professor Collette Tayler, Victorian Government Early Childhood Education Award. What will you do? Coach educational/service leaders and teams to better understand relational approaches focused on building connections and strengthening attachments, creating safe & secure places for children and families who have experienced or are experiencing the impacts of social and emotional vulnerabilities or trauma. Collaborate with and guide all educators on contemporary and inclusive strategies with evidence-based trauma informed approaches. Support services to improve relationships and outcomes with families. Provide ongoing support around agreed goals and measures. Work alongside partner organisations such as Melbourne City Mission, Brotherhood of St Laurence, and the Alannah Madeline Foundation. More about you Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent. Minimum five years’ direct practice experience working in children’s and/or family services. Experience working in or alongside the early years sector. Extensive experience, knowledge and skills in relevant contemporary practices and research Passionate about learning and personal development.
