Principal – Teaching and Learning, CHSS (contract role) The Principal Teaching and Learning works collaboratively with the Head of School, Board, College of Teachers, staff and the parent community to grow and sustain the school, delivering a high-quality Steiner education and contributing to the vibrant life of the school. The Principal provides leadership and oversight of teaching and learning in the school, and is the direct line to leadership for students, parents and prospective families. This is a newly created role, as part of a dynamic period of growth and ongoing maturing of the school and its structures. The co-leadership model at the school provides a supportive structure for leadership. The Principal is responsible for upholding regulatory requirements that relate to curriculum and instruction and to school families and community. The Principal oversees the effective functioning of the College of Teachers plus all Faculties and the Learning Support Team. They work in close partnership with the Head of School and are part of the Senior Leadership team along with the HoS and College Chair. Definitions of leadership at our school: The Head of School provides long term stability and strategic oversight. They oversee all aspects of school finance, operations, risk management and compliance. They drive planning for the future. They hold executive authority. The Principal is the lead teacher and learner. They provide anthroposophical leadership of the school. They support the healthy functioning of the whole school community with a focus on the quality of our Steiner educational offering and the experience of our families and staff. Who we are looking for The Board seek a Principal Teaching & Learning with these qualities: Extensive Steiner experience as you will oversee a committed cohort of Steiner teachers and educate and engage with students and families Understands the balance of leading collaboratively in service to the school, while also maintaining boundaries for effective decision making The right candidate will be dynamic and comfortable with change, as roles and school structures continue to develop and organically evolve.
