Part Time $32.20 - $33.99 Gross per hour Superannuation About the Opportunity If you are reliable, energetic, passionate about animal welfare, and have experience in animal care then this is the role for you Following training, this part time role, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Glenelg Shire Animal Welfare Centre. Our pound and shelter operations are an integral service for our community, along with upholding a high standard of care for the animals housed at the facility. In this role, you will be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment and have excellent communication skills. While also being confident and competent in handling cats and dogs of all temperaments daily and take pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe facility. This is a flexible role and will require regular weekend work as needed. For further information on the position please refer to the Position Description . What you need to Thrive A current driver's licence is an essential ongoing requirement for this position. Certificate in Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Nursing, and/or substantial experience in animal care and handling is essential. Physical capacity to undertake role. Passionate about animal welfare. Comfortable and experienced with cleaning and feeding animals, including dealing with cats and dogs of all temperaments. Friendly, positive nature and well presented. Proven experience delivering excellent customer service. Experience working in teams and working solo. Good computer skills, with the ability to learn new systems. An ability to plan and organise daily workloads. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and manage information in a discreet and respectful manner. Available to work to a flexible roster, including weekends. Satisfactory Police Check & Working with Children Check.
