About Pimlico State High School Pimlico State High School is a large, co-educational school located in the eastern suburbs of Townsville, North Queensland. The school is proud to offer an extensive range of both choral and instrumental music opportunities to students in Years 7 to 12. A comprehensive arts curriculum with a strong academic focus is a feature of the school. Our award-winning Instrumental music and choral program currently boasts 400 enrolments and is widely considered one of the best music programs in the state. Our students often perform locally, state-wide and nationally at various festivals, eisteddfods and competitions. This year our brand-new state of the art Performing Arts Centre opens and the right candidate will also have a role in shaping the vision and management of the facility. We are currently seeking an Administration Officer who will work as part of a team to provide support services to the Music and Arts Department, which includes a wide variety of tasks, some of which are included in this description but a full list can be obtained by contacting the school. The candidate will have a reasonably flexible roster of hours based during the school day but will also be required to undertake ADDITIONAL work on nights and weekends, possibly on the school holidays to support the new facility. Hours and frequency of these additional hours will vary according to the bookings made for the facility. About the Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administration Tasks in Music Department Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Music and Faculty staff. Coordination of the musical instrument loan scheme. Assist music staff with the preparation of upcoming performances. Assist with organisation of camps, concerts, bus bookings, eisteddfods, workshops etc. as required. Organise the repair of music equipment. Preparation for concerts and performances including scheduling, liaising with PALS, collecting Programme information and writing compere notes. Maintain a central database of instruments. Update and maintain Music Library as required. Organise cataloguing, collection and filing of music folders and sheet music. Catalogue music to provide easy access for Instrumental Music and Choral Program staff. Support and maintain relationships with professional and community music associations. Administration Tasks in Performing Arts Centre. Bookings Management On-Site contact for bookings, both during school hours and after hours.
