Employment Type : Casual Position Classification : Registered Nurse Remuneration : $35.33 - $49.60 per hour plus Superannuation  Hours Per Week : As required Requisition ID : REQ466216 Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) is one of the sexual health and blood borne virus services (SHBBV) within the SESLHD Population and Community Health (PaCH) directorate. It is a busy inner city sexual health service providing a free and confidential service to priority populations including testing, treatment and ongoing management of sexually transmitted infections, HIV and viral hepatitis SSHC has a large multidisciplinary team committed to the delivery of high quality patient centred care.  The Registered Nurse at Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to clients attending SSHC and outreach/specialist services consistent with SESLHD policies, procedures and standards. The nursing staff provide a diverse range of specialist services including sexual health assessment, STI screening and treatment, client education and health promotion, in-patient triage, telephone services (including information, results provision and triage) and other duties as directed by the NUM.  The nursing unit are actively involved in research and quality activities and participate in the weekly education program as well as external education opportunities. SSHC has a commitment to education and training, all nursing staff are accredited in their clinical practice by competencies and guided by local business rules and standard operating procedures. The role may also be required to collaborate and work in partnership with the other SHBBV services within the organisation. All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees. All staff are expected to take reasonable care that their actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others, that they comply with any reasonable instruction that is given them and with any reasonable policies/procedures relating to health or safety in the workplace, as well as notifying any hazards/risks or incidents to their managers. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.  A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements. In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant. Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position. Demonstrated clinical experience working in the sexual health or related field or demonstrated interest in working in the sexual health sector. Demonstrated ability to work within a fast paced environment whilst ensuring safe, effective and high quality care.
