The Registered midwife coordinates and delivers high quality midwifery care to maternity patients within the Antenatal OPD of the Royal Hospital for Women, SESLHD consistent with policies, procedures and standards. The Antenatal OPD is located on the Ground Floor of the Royal Hospital. The Unit operated from Monday to Friday with a number of clinics running simultaneously on a daily basis. The Registered Midwife is responsible to the Midwifery Unit Manager of the AN OPD and will work within a large multidisciplinary Team environment. Each midwife will care for Women within their midwifery led clinic to deliver holistic care to the Women and their families while working in accordance local policies and the ACM competency guidelines. • Communicate effectively with primary health network GPs, women and families of service delivery processes and clinical interventions, to ensure maternity care needs are identified and requirements are met. • Consult and liaise with health care professionals within the health care team to ensure continuity of care to patients/clients. • Maintain clear and concise patient records that meet legislative requirements to ensure continuity of care to women and families    The Royal Hospital for Women  is a multi-faceted tertiary referral and teaching hospital offering women a wide range of comprehensive women's health services. In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant. Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others. Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife in applying these principles. Demonstrated commitment to the NSW Health Breastfeeding Policy and the BFHI Principles. Recent postgraduate experience working within the ACM competencies within an Antenatal Outpatients Department this includes antenatal bookings and midwives clinic.
