The ward also has a 4 bed Close Observation Unit The nursing staff on ward 2 East embrace diversity to provide compassionate care. All staff are expected to take reasonable care that their actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others, that they comply with any reasonable instruction that is given them and with any reasonable policies/procedures relating to health or safety in the workplace, as well as notifying any hazards/risks or incidents to their managers.  Provision of support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Assist Registered and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.   A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements. In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant. Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.
