This is the role for you Make your mark as our new Designer in our amazing Living Home team At Kmart, we're proud to create fantastic product that makes everyday living brighter for our customers. Our Homewares category is growing, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Hardgoods Designer to join us on this exciting journey This is such a great opportunity to shape and design desirable and on-trend product that really has impact What you'll be doing: We have an amazing opportunity for a Designer Living Home where you will be instrumental in identifying, interpreting and implementing global homeware trends to grow sales whilst continuing to bring meaningful moments into our customers lives. Create original, commercial, customer focused, coordinated product ranges including print and pattern/graphic design that best reflects Kmart's 'handwriting' to grow incremental sales. This is executed through strong influencing, collaboration, tasteful aesthetics and eye for trend. Some of the key responsibilities are (but not limited to): Trend forecasting & identifying new product opportunities in homewares market. Product design & Development in thinking in 3D such as packaging executions and general homeware hard goods such as dinnerware, candles and décor products. Leadership - constantly strive to improve product, process and culture Building relationship & influence key stakeholders To be successful in this role you'll have: We are seeking a creative and driven Designer who has experience in or specialises in Homeware Hardgoods. You love delivering product, customers are always front of mind and building and managing relationships with a variety of key stakeholders is one of your strengths. We'd also love you to have: Proven experience in a Hardgoods Design role in a retail environment Transferable skills and ability to adapt to product types for general merchandise design. Strong ability to forecast and implement on-trend product ranges that have a commercial and broad appeal Good understanding of commercial range architecture Excellent ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders High proficiency in Illustrator, Solid Works or 3D capabilities programmes and Photoshop Ability to create accurate technical specification drawings Solid knowledge of print types and limitations within print execution.
