Appointment Pool Advertised Vacancy Number: SS/TCH877944 Southwell Primary School is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Teachers – K-6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated and dedicated to raising literacy and numeracy achievement, as well as fostering social and emotional skills, through the effective use of whole-school approaches, explicit teaching and a commitment to the National Quality Standards. Suitable applicants will demonstrate the ability to create an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They would have an understanding of appropriate assessments, and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class. Applicants should display the capacity to show initiative, embrace opportunities and challenges and demonstrate a growth mindset. Ideally knowledge of whole school programs and practices including Souths Write, Heggerty, Talk for Reading, Bond Blocks and Positive Behaviour Support are ideal. The ability to implement whole school expectations and programs incorporating high impact teaching strategies and skills is essential. Southwell Primary, situated in Hamilton Hill, is a small school that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. Southwell is a diverse multi-cultural school with a high percentage of Aboriginal Students.
