School Infrastructure NSW is the department’s centre of excellence for infrastructure planning, delivery and asset management. It is responsible for delivering the NSW Government’s investment in education infrastructure and: Drives the service planning, infrastructure planning, procurement and construction of school facilities to meet changes in population growth, to accommodate new ways of teaching and learning, and to help foster better educational outcomes for students Ensures school-based assets are regularly renewed and maintained About the role Reporting to the Group Director, Technical Services, the role is accountable for the provision of successful educational infrastructure design and standards through research, consultation and effective stakeholder engagement. The role leads and develops tactical plans and initiatives to provide direction and expert advice on infrastructure standards (design, facilities and operations) and solutions that facilitate leading design, operations, teaching, learning to enable the strategic delivery of the department’s goals and commitments. This is a strategic role that requires strong collaboration approach and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders and identify key infrastructure risks to determine appropriate response. In this role, you will: Keep pace with a fast paced workplace, anticipate challenges while managing competing and complex priorities that can support and promote resilience of the school infrastructure design, facilities and operations will be key. Focus on solutions-based industry-leading design and operations, leadership, and clear communication that foster collaboration, drives continuous improvement and integration with digital solutions, and achieves the department’s goals and commitments. About you Our ideal candidate will have leadership experience and evidence of providing expert advice and direction on infrastructure standards (design, facilities and operations) of major infrastructure programs. You will apply sound program expertise to lead a team delivering a broad range of complex infrastructure projects. It is essential that you have strong commercial acumen to navigate complex and contentious environments. You will also need to possess excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. You will have experience delivering in designing, teaching and operations to enable the delivery of the Department’s goals and commitments. Your proven ability to cultivate and sustain impactful stakeholder relationships is a testament to your expertise. To be successful in this role, you will have:• Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or communications, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.• Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check).• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
