Wenona is seeking an enthusiastic Science teacher to join our Science faculty. The Position The Science Teacher will be able to take general science classes from years 8 - 10, as well as teach a year 11 biology class. Key priorities for the role also include: Teaching students from grades 8 – 11, in general science and biology. Committing to Pastoral Care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students. Engaging in professional learning, including contributing to the broader education community. Collaborating and contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators. Utilising ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom. This is a temporary full-time position, covering Terms 1 - 2, 2024, with the possibility to extend. This role requires the successful applicant to be NESA accredited, hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and to be fully COVID vaccinated. Wenona supports both academic and professional services staff to develop their expertise through initiatives such as Wenona Teaching Fellowships, Seeding Grants and ongoing outstanding professional learning that develops and supports career development into the future. About You Qualifications and experience teaching Science 7 – 12, and specific Science courses at Stage 6 Engagement and knowledge of changes to Stage 6 courses and a knowledge of Extension Science Possesses contemporary and extensive professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Science 7-12 and the aspects that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a range of resources and best practice in teaching and learning.
