About the role Yooralla has vacancies in Avondale Heights for a positive, passionate person with effective communication skills to join our team as a Disability Support Worker (DSW). This rewarding role will provide direct support to people with disability of all ages and needs in the community and recreational settings. Your working days will be varied and may involve: supporting people to get to (and at) appointments or events taking people out to, and supporting them at, recreation and social activities providing assistance with daily living including meal preparation, personal hygiene and mobility supporting people to participate in life skills programs, and supporting children and young people during holiday programs, camps and other recreational activities. About You Relevant qualifications, experience or an interest in community services would be great if you have them However, most importantly, you’ll need a great attitude and a willingness to learn. To be successful in this role you’ll share Yooralla’s values and have: initiative, self-motivation and a positive approach a willingness to demonstrate a commitment to empowering our customers to reach their goals, and to upholding quality and safeguards in your everyday work clear and effective communication skills, and a good level of English to communicate well with our customers the right to work in Australia a Victorian driver’s licence, and a current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary certificate (or obtain one).
