Full-time 3-year Civil Construction Traineeship (with the ability to complete sooner) Work for a Government Organisation that specialises in delivering transport infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland Competitive traineeship hourly rate Based in Cairns March 2024 StartCommunity Solutions, in partnership with RoadTek a branch of the Department of Transport and Main Roads are set to deliver a Women in Construction (WiC) Program commencing in March 2024. This will offer women an opportunity to start a career within the Civil Construction industry.To address the gender imbalance in the construction industry, RoadTek has developed a Women in Construction (WiC) Program actively targeting women of any age group or cultural background for full time traineeships in Certificate III Civil Construction at one of RoadTek’s nine operational units within Queensland. The successful candidate will initially complete a 3-week program in Brisbane then continue the traineeship at their local operational unit.Community Solutions is seeking mature and junior age female candidates that are committed in completing a Certificate III in Civil Construction. The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and passion for the industry, labour experience desirable and the ability to work a rotating shift roster in a large safety-first organisation.The Traineeship will involve but not limited to: Learning to read plans and overviews and follow and implement as directed Carry out measurements and calculations Maintenance and repair on all types of road infrastructure Operate small plant and equipment Implantation of traffic management plans The work is outdoors in most weather conditions’ day or night Willing to work a Roster including weekend and shift workEssential Qualifications: Construction White Card Manual driver’s licence (or must be committed to obtain with 6 months) CPR desirable Ability to provide two work or school related references Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol testing What can Community Solutions offer you?
