The Opportunity: Reporting directly to the National Manager - Machine & Fleet Health, the Principal Monitoring Solutions Engineer will be at the forefront of collaboration with development, sales, and technical teams to continuously elevate our product offerings and exceed customer expectations. The Principal Monitoring Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in our pursuit of excellence in remote equipment monitoring. This is a highly technical role within our organisation, responsible for spearheading the development of cutting-edge solutions that play a mission-critical role in the analysis, interpretation, and visualisation of intricate equipment data. These solutions are paramount in supporting our remote equipment monitoring business, serving as the backbone for assessing machine health and performance efficiently and effectively in the delivery of remote health monitoring and mining optimisation projects. Key Accountabilities Include: Developing and building innovative solutions to visualise and analyse mining equipment data. Collaborating with various business functions to build and prioritise a pipeline of development projects Manage the execution of the pipeline projects focusing on business requirements and a priority ranking system completed in conjunction with National Manager - Machine & Fleet Health and Remote Equipment Monitoring project leads. Technical lead on system and processes standardisation for the Machine Analysts executing Remote Equipment and Health Monitoring projects Leading the development of new tools and visualizations can improve their effectiveness. Using advanced analytics to better predict equipment performance and maintenance needs. Acting as the subject matter expert on the monitoring visualisation platform and a source of technical support for the entire Mining Solutions Team Working with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are integrated with existing monitoring systems and tools. Developing, maintaining, and delivering product documentation, including user manuals, training materials and workshop style lessons. Providing technical support and troubleshooting for monitoring solutions. Contributing to the development and management of IP Protection Strategies for the protection of Komatsu Intellectual Property Keeping up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Providing regular reports to the National Manager - Machine & Fleet Health on equipment health and performance. Postgraduate qualification is advantageous but not required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing monitoring solutions for industrial applications, preferably in the mining industry. 10 years site based heavy industry maintenance or operations experience, preferably in the mining industry Experience managing a team working in a collaborative engineering/technical product development environment Experience with bespoke software development tools/steps/methods Exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling the identification and resolution of complex technical issues. Experience in Engineering/Software project management. Qualification/experience relating to DevOps & CMMI process highly desired. Knowledge of cloud-based IoT/data storage/processing system architecture. Experience with Azure, DataBricks and Snowflake/Influx DB highly desired. Proven capability in understanding how to integrate small-scale technical solutions into wider system level architecture Advanced programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java. Demonstrated advanced experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Tableau, Power BI, D3.js or similar. Advanced understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical analysis techniques. Experience with data management and processing technologies such as SQL and Hadoop. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and rapport building both in face-to-face interactions and remote communication settings. Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
