We're looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil Infrastructure team in Cairns. In this role you will manage the design and documentation on a variety of civil infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio. You will have an aptitude for resolving complex site constraints within the operational parameters required of such facilities, as well as previous project experience within a multi-disciplinary team. Our Civil Infrastructure Team is a key component in major infrastructure projects in the areas of industrial development, defense, renewable energy, major community projects, aviation and transport. Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Design, design coordination and project management of civil infrastructure projects, from feasibility through to construction. Undertake the role of civil discipline lead in major projects. Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects through other offices as required. Prepare technical reports and specifications. Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets. Coordination between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects. Undertake and manage site surveillance and provide Certification of site works. Contribute to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction. Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients throughout the North Queensland region; and Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management. Provide leadership to the Townsville team, leading by example, mentoring and staff development. What you will bring to the team Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ). A passion for design documentation, assessment and analysis of technical data and imparting knowledge, skills, and experience through the provision of professional development in others. Excellent project management skills and ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers. Strong communication skills both oral and written (including report writing). Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget. The capability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs and mark-ups. Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, from small projects to medium sized projects. Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling, and construction. Interested? Apply now.
