Helping to build a greener future the Future Fuels team are expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrical, Instrument, Control and Communications Engineer to join the team based in Brisbane. We have completed Front End Engineering Design on phase 1 of the Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub, and we are building a team to get the project through to completion. This position will provide ICCE Engineering support, subject matter expertise and leadership for the Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub (HVHH) Project specifically, and more generally for Future Fuels Projects through Concept Select, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning. The HVHH detailed design will be performed by an EPC contractor, and the project team requires an experienced engineer to develop and assure standards, design criteria, designs and calculations. While the role will be the focal point for all electrical, instrumentation, controls and communications decision making for the project, a detailed knowledge of the design and operation of power systems and high voltage electrical systems will be a key requirement. It is also expected that the lead engineer will have the opportunity to assist other projects across Future Fuels. Responsibilities Deliver a safe, operable and cost effective electrical, control and communications system for the Hunter Valley Phase 1 Project Guide and assure the activities of the EPC consultant Interface with equipment vendors as owners ICCE engineering representative Develop and maintain the Internal Standards and design criteria to safely deliver the project, liaising with Origin’s subject matter experts and technical authorities as required Develop scopes of work for procurement of equipment and services, including third party assurance activities per Future Fuel's assurance plan Ensure that the engineering and handover process to Operations aligns with Integrated Gas Core Processes Review of ICCE engineering deliverables Coach, mentor and oversee the performance of more junior members of the project team, including delegation of activities as required to deliver project outcomes Domestic and International travel may be required during the design and build of the Future Fuels Projects Skills/Experience/Qualifications – Essential requirements Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering complemented by senior level experience (10-15 years) in engineering in an oil and gas, hydrocarbon or petrochemical environment RPEQ or equivalent in electrical, Information, telecommunication and electronics engineering High Voltage experience in design and/or operation Experience In Transmission and distribution Sound knowledge and experience in Hazardous areas, functional safety, DC systems and control systems A strong commitment to safety, governance and compliance Desirable requirements Experience with electrolysers and rectifiers Power system modelling experience Experience in the selection of instrumentation for hydrogen and ammonia services For more information, please contact Bronwen Galpin - 0738670157, quote Requisition ID 85828 or apply now.
