The Role We’re hiring an experienced Software Engineer to join our GNC & Software team. In this role you will perform analysis and testing of flight control software for a hypersonic flight vehicle. You will also work with the broader team of aerospace and avionics engineers and technicians to develop hardware-in-the-loop simulations of a hypersonic flight vehicle. As a level II Engineer you will be expected to deliver results on complex engineering tasks with little oversight and supervision, and act as a mentor to junior engineers where appropriate. We are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude who will fit into a team that are solving complex engineering challenges every day. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Conduct flight control computer testing and perform verification from test data. Performing modelling and simulation of hypersonic flight vehicle avionics. Performing analysis and verification of avionics systems for hypersonic vehicles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers to ensure the successful design and testing of hypersonic vehicles. Work under the direction of the Lead GNC Engineer and manage sub-contracted work as required The Person To succeed in this role, you will need: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. 4 years of experience in software design and verification. Understanding of hardware communication protocols including Serial, CAN and ethernet. Extensive experience with C and C++ programming languages. Experience working with and developing real-time software. Familiarity with systems engineering processes, developing integration and test procedures, and performing both software and system testing. Strong work ethic and willingness to put in extra effort to deliver amazing results. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
