The EDS team develops, supports and operates the SBS mobile applications and websites. This role is a 6 months contract opportunity. In this role you will: Join a progressive organisation in a product team of Mobile engineers, Designers and UX experts. Contribute as a highly autonomous Mobile Software Engineer with great coding skills in Kotlin developing for Android platform. Ensure the quality of the mobile applications by performing code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting. Write tech documentation. Refactor legacy code where necessary. Contribute with the App solution architecture. Contribute with implementation of projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers to define requirements and develop user-friendly and engaging mobile experiences. The role is open for remote working from across all of Australia. You need to have Australian working rights to be considered. It is a requirement of this role that incumbents have had two vaccinations with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you. About you Ideally, you are an individual who takes accountability seriously and is delivery focused. You should show great initiative and passion about your work and you are confident of your software development skills. We are looking for someone with a collaborative mindset but who doesn't mind working autonomously. Preferably, you will have: Experience in mobile application development using Kotlin. Familiarity with design patterns like MVVM, Clean Architecture. Experience with TDD method of writing code. Experience with RESTful API integration. Experience with Agile methodologies. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, etc. Experience with mobile app analytics, performance optimisation, and continuous integration. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles. Bonus skills (not essential): Experience on cross-platform solutions using Kotlin Multiplatform. Experience with tools like Firebase. Proven architectural design skills and able to find creative scalable solutions to difficult problems. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
