This is a new role, and you will be working closely with the Adult Anaesthesia Department Secretary who is there as a valuable guide to you. The role will involve working with the department to manage leave, ensure billings are up to date, assist with TESL, reply to correspondence and ensuing our office supplies are well stocked.  It will also involve assisting the Head of Department with general duties, logistics and liaising with the SCHN as well as SESLHD. This role is permanent, part-time, working 27 hours per week.  What you'll be doing To manage the administrative aspects of, and ensure the smooth running, of the Anaesthetic Department for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. The primary purpose of this position is the first point of contact and is responsible for the coordination of administrative processes, patient information, and stakeholder input, to ensure an efficient, effective services to all the anaesthetic staff, including surgical teams, families, ward staff and Head of Department.  Demonstrated administration experience within a surgical and medical environment. Demonstrated experience in patient management systems, Medicare, private health systems, accounts payable and Oracle financial management. Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents and reports in a professional and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively and exercise initiative and judgement in dealing with confidential issues. Demonstrated ability to manage a workload, prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to competently use a range of hospital management systems or computer software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Patient Management Systems, Oracle, Chimp Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality care to children and their families via KPI’s.
