To provide a high level of service to the business through development of high-quality IT systems which drive the long-term vision of the company and in doing so, support our growth target, sales plan, and customer satisfaction through delivery of our IT Roadmap. Coaching and mentoring less senior members of the team, supporting them, pairing with them and understanding what support they need to succeed. Specifying and designing software to meet defined requirements by following agreed design principles and best practices. Design, code, verify, test and document complex programs/scripts, system components and integration software services. You will contribute to the selection of the software development methods, tools and techniques, applying agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes. Participate in reviews of your own work and lead code reviews of others' work. Taking accountability for the quality of your work, ensuring we can continue to push releases 3 x daily without impacting our customers. Maintain application support processes and check that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Plan own modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques to meet assigned objectives. Design and implement operational processes for secure configuration, classification and management of configuration items (CI's) and for verifying and auditing configuration records. Implementing physical database designs to support transactional data requirements for performance and availability, and develop & maintain specialist knowledge, sharing with the wider team to increase the overall knowledge base. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED? We know you will have a wide range of skills and experience, but we think the most important are; 7 years experience within the IT field A collaborative approach to software engineering, understanding that everybody has a part to play and supporting them as well as challenging yourself to produce your best work. Great communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical individuals within the team An understanding that mistakes happen and that they are learning opportunities to improve ourselves, dedicated to continuous improvement of self and team. Passion and energy for your industry, with a strong client focus (internal and external) Extensive recent experience within a software engineering position, responsible for any of these areas of the SDLC - application support, business modelling, configuration management, database design, software configuration, design, integration, testing and release & deployment. Microservices in .NET Core Cloud exposure - preferably GCP but do have elements of Azure and AWS also within our tech stack Database knowledge - we have PostgreSQL and SQL A solid understanding and experience of working with API development.
