Scope: As a Senior Platform Engineer at RecordPoint, you are an experienced professional who uses their expertise and problem-solving skills to collaboratively develop new features and improve on existing components of our SaaS platform. You will run technical streams of work coordinating several other engineers as you research, scope, design, estimate, and implement new features. You'll be involved in determining the future set of features we take on for the platform and how we address technical debt. Your passion and curiosity will drive us to continue to innovate and push the status quo higher. You will be both an individual contributor and an exemplary teammate. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain platforms, tooling, and software applications for our clients, ensuring the highest level of quality, reliability, and performance. Help design, build, test, and support the platform and tooling for the wider Application Engineering team. Participate in the design and build of a secure-by-design environment with our customer's data privacy concerns in mind Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members of all levels of seniority including graduates and junior engineers Participate in code reviews and ensure that coding standards and best practices are followed. Take ownership of the productionisation, robustness and scalability of features. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that software applications are integrated with other systems as required. Keep up to date with the latest developments in software engineering and technology, and apply them to the development of our software applications. What you'll do Drive large, complex projects autonomously, from technical design to launch Act as Technical Lead on streams of work within the team providing guidance and management of several engineers Determine plans of attack on large projects; guiding implementation phases, translation of high level requirements / design into work items for engineers working on your stream of work Tackle complex architectural challenges, and apply architectural standards and start using them on new projects Partner across engineering teams to tackle company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects Mentor more junior members of the team Identify gaps and technical debt and help shape them into future streams of technical work to improve the reliability, performance, and usability of the platform or just to reduce toil Helping to define and ensure data compliance/governance in accordance with different frameworks and legislation across the globe Work with our internal Risk team as well as 3rd party auditors and penetration testing groups to validate the security and compliance of the platform and product Some of the technologies and patterns we're working on .NET Core, .NET Framework, C#, Python, Angular 14 and Typescript Distributed systems, microservices, machine learning, event streaming, data engineering Continuous Delivery & DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless, Azure Search, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, Snowflake, Elastic Search, Kafka Terraform, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Hubs Qualifications: Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills Extensive experience crafting and building software using the latest delivery techniques A real passion for quality, clean code, and continuous improvement A strong understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design Highly dedicated ethos.
