The Aboriginal Health Unit Administration Officer provides administrative support to the Director Aboriginal Health and the Aboriginal Health Unit. In this role you will be  prioritising and monitoring the workflow of the Unit and is the first point of contact for all internal and external enquiries. Selection criteria to be addressed : This is an identified Aboriginal position. Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District considers that being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community. Demonstrated excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the local Aboriginal community, having knowledge of key Aboriginal services and cultural protocols. Demonstrated comprehensive administrative skills including experience with minute-taking, records management systems and databases. Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks, exercise judgement and solve problems. Highly developed computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing software. Highly developed Interpersonal, verbal and written communication and skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters. Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction, with strong organisational skills, ability to monitor and prioritise workflow and excellent time management. Current Driver’s Licence with the ability to travel to locations across the District for work purposes.
