The Chief Engineer is a senior role in a full-service hotel with a variety of facilities. In this role you will be the go-to person, responsible for the overall maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members. This role champions safety and risk management, and carbon reduction strategies within the hotel. With a focus on maintaining the hotel in peak condition, you'll naturally work on continuous improvement and lead the preventative maintenance plan, complying with federal, state and local regulatory requirements and Hotel Brand Standards. As an exemplary leader, you will be part of the Hotel's Executive and lead a small but talented engineering team, dedicated to quality and guest experience. Our systems are driven by technology and this role requires a high level of IT experience and nous. While backed up by IT expertise, this role is on the ground and needs to be able to troubleshoot and communicate with internal and external technicians. A little taste of your day-to-day: Every day is different, but you'll mostly be: - Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task - Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy - Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and meeting - our green initiatives - Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed - Building strong relationships with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed About you: - An experienced leader with a head for business and guest experience - Tertiary or advanced vocational training, ideally within the fields of Mechanical / Electrical engineering, plus general building maintenance and/or construction or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Well-developed computer literacy and experience with automation and network cabling - Strong organisational skills and ability to troubleshoot and prioritise workflow - Demonstrated experience in capital planning, budgeting and project management - Hotel experience preferred but not essential What you can expect from us: Join our extraordinary world and experience a place where you can be yourself, share ideas and be a valued member of a diverse and inspirational team.
