Early Childhood Educators & Teachers (Casual) — Geelong, Geelong Region

About the role We are excited to share we are increasing our Casual Early Childhood teams across Certificate III, Diploma Educator and Teacher positions. The positions assist educators / teachers who are on leave, with continuity of their educational program while they are absent - supporting the whole team with the implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate educational programs that reflect children’s needs and meet the requirements of the City of Greater Geelong, State Regulations and Commonwealth Government Guidelines, including the Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Standards. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for encouraging and guiding our youngest community members through their early life. You will have the opportunity to work alongside families to ensure their children are challenged, nurtured and supported in their early years, through the provision of stimulating and safe environments and individual and group-based programming. Depending on your preferred position, you will be expected to contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate educational programs that reflect the children’s needs. You may be called to work in our Long Day Care educational programs or our Kindergarten programs for three and four year old’s. All qualified ECE professionals are required to adhere to the City of Greater Geelong and State Regulations, including the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the National Quality Standard and our professions Code of Ethics. Key responsibilities include: Manage the day to day operations of your allocated learning environment Provide an exceeding standard of education and care which is in accordance to National regulations Ensure supervision of children is active, adequate and efficient at all times, and implement and maintain clear expectations for children when establishing limits of appropriate behaviour Structure the indoor and outdoor environments and activities with a balance of active and passive learning areas to guide children to participate constructively, to explore, to learn and interact positively with other children in the group through play. Development of holistic and culturally responsive education programs and responses to all children, within the context of their families and communities. About you To be successful in this role, you will possess A relevant tertiary qualification in accordance to the position you wish you apply for Excellent knowledge of the development of children in the 0-12 years age group and proven ability to plan appropriate programs in relation to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Frameworks. Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to the leadership team on the planning and implementation of education and care programs within the service. Experience in undertaking educational program planning to meet the needs of all children within the service. Ability to establish effective professional relationships with staff from a range of professional backgrounds in relation to the education and needs of children and their families.
