This is a site-based position, working at our Ernest Henry operation. The Ernest Henry copper-gold operation is a large-scale, long-life asset. The operation employs the sub-level caving extraction method. It is located 38km north-east of Cloncurry, Queensland on the traditional lands of the Mitakoodi people. About the role Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will safely perform maintenance engineering and engineering improvement projects to underground fixed plant equipment to ensure the ongoing maintenance, reliability and availability of equipment. Key responsibilities: Provide technical and problem-solving support within the department and maintenance teams. Lead and deliver technical input into investigations through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement appropriate defect elimination strategies. Develop and refine equipment maintenance strategies though the use of RCM principles. Identify, design, and implement safety and equipment performance improvements and ensure drawings management is up to date. Maintain a positive attitude to safety awareness, safety training and promote a safety culture within the team. Lead and manage capital project initiatives and identify capital initiatives for upcoming financial years. Identify risks and hazards and apply effective controls through to use of Management of Change processes and formal risk assessments. Ensure compliance to site Asset Management procedure, policy and standards, Statutory Work Order compliance, Queensland Work Safe legislation, Queensland Mining and Quarrying legislation and Australian Standards. Work to achieve and exceed maintenance KPI targets and maintain accurate records of work completed. About you You will possess a tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Maintenance or Reliability Engineering) and have experience in fixed plant maintenance in a mining, oil and gas, or bulk materials handling industry. You'll also have experience in project management, managing projects through all phases. You'll be competent in MS Office (including MS Word, Excel and Project), and ideally have experience using Solidworks, AutoCAD or MS Autodesk Inventor. You'll enjoy working in a diverse team, and have a proactive and hands on approach to work. You'll be a confident communicator, with excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills. You'll be able to adapt to change in a fast-moving environment, prioritising and completing both planned and unplanned work.
