Description: About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated, solutions-oriented Director of Sales & Marketing with exceptional leadership skills, who can inspire our team to achieve their goals and consistently exceed client expectations at Hyatt Regency Sydney. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is part of our well-established Leadership Committee, at the largest premium Hotel in Australia. As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will provide support and oversee a large team covering Sales, Marketing and Event Sales and Planning. You will provide the team with guidance and encourage innovation and out-of-the-box ways of thinking to ensure the Hotel is at the forefront of the market. In this fast-paced role, you must ensure standards are met in line with Hyatt's strategic priorities, whilst meeting colleague, client, and owner expectations. You will ensure the delivery of a brand-led experience that is personalised to our client's needs while maximising revenue and managing costs efficiently. You will be a dynamic and energetic leader, whose focus is on developing and mentoring colleagues to achieve their best. Main Responsibilities: - Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to drive revenue and elevate the brand's presence in Sydney. - Ensure that the hotel's brand message and story are consistent and effectively communicated across all marketing channels. - Establish and implement revenue targets and business goals for the hotel's sales and marketing departments. - To maximise the effectiveness of the team by developing individual's skills and abilities through appropriate training/mentoring. - To implement and achieve the strategic business plans for the Hotel in the short, mid and long-term. - Establish and uphold connections with crucial partners, such as travel agencies, corporate clients, and event planners, while also ensuring their continued care. - Continuously observe the fluctuations and trends in the market to identify opportunities and potential risks, adeptly modifying tactics in response. - To maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant Stakeholders and have current knowledge of the Australian market. To be successful in this role, ideally you will have: - Previous experience in a large 5 star hotel with knowledge of the Meetings and Events market. - Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role. - Previous experience leading and developing a large team. - Proven ability to respond to emergency and crisis situations. - Advanced working knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint. - Opera system experience is preferred however not essential. - Has previous experience with large international clients. - Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills. - Full working rights in Australia.
