Come and join the NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service Where you'll be working The NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service (NSW OTDS) is the state-wide NSW Health agency responsible to save and improve the lives of more Australians through optimising every potential organ and tissue donation for transplantation. Our objectives are to: • Optimise organ and tissue donation opportunities for transplantation • Provide specialist support for families involved in the donation process • Increase consent through registration (on the Australian Organ Donor Registry) and family discussion • Enhance systems to support donation and transplantation. The NSW OTDS is hosted by the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). What you'll be doing The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’ . SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.    The NSW OTDS is a state –wide service hosted by SESLHD which is responsible for coordinating the organ and tissue referral, allocation and retrieval process in NSW and ACT public and private hospitals.   This position provides expert clinical consultancy to clinicians across NSW and the ACT in relation to the management of organ and tissue donors and the coordination of organ and tissue retrieval surgery for the OTDS.   Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Registered Nurse by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate Current class C unrestricted driver licence; with ability to travel in small aircraft Ability to work a rotating roster and on call after hours and weekends across NSW and ACT At least 5 years’ full time equivalent post registration nursing experience, with at least 3 years’ full time equivalent current experience in a critical care field and a post registration qualification in critical care specialty Commitment to champion, educate and lead other health professionals to improve organ and tissue donation rates and outcomes as part of a team Proven clinical leadership skills in quality, research and/or education and demonstrated critical thinking capabilities Need more information?   1) Click here for the Position Description and SESLHD Expected Standards   2) Find out more about applying for this position For role related queries or questions contact Nicola Seifert - Nicola.Seiferthealth.nsw.gov.au   Applications Close: Thursday 15 February 2024 11.59 pm Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
