Summary The Role: You will be joining an energetic team who are responsible for all areas of engineering at the Swissôtel Sydney, West Hotel and other sites as required, covering over 550 rooms, various conference/meeting rooms and restaurants. The Swissotel Sydney, West Hotel along with the Hyatt Regency Sydney have had their Engineering departments grouped together to form an engineering HUB that covers all aspects of engineering across the group. The Chief Engineer – Facilities Management will be employed by the Hyatt Regency Sydney but will be primarily responsible for the engineering requirements of the Swissotel and West Hotels. Responsibilities: All reactive and preventative maintenance repairs. Analyse, monitor and maintain records relating to utility costs throughout the Hotel. Capital projects including; identification, review, design, costing and implementation. Ensuring adherence to all certification requirements, WH&S, local and other government legislation requirements. The supervision and management of associates working in the department. Carry out regular inspections and upkeep of plant and equipment. Contractor management and supervision. Providing financial and operational reports. What we are looking for: Previous engineering experience in a hotel/accommodation environment is a must. A hands-on engineer with experience in managing a team and multiple contractors. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Exposure to BMCS and lighting control systems highly regarded. Great communication and organisational skills. Possess the knowledge & understanding of the relevant rules & regulations pertaining to statutory compliance. Demonstrated understanding of current technical legislation in relation to engineering and facilities maintenance management Detail orientated. Technical trade or certificate desirable with experience across multiple service disciplines. A detailed knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, kitchen equipment, hydraulic & sewer systems, Fire Systems, Audio & Visual systems and vertical transportation systems.
