About the Role The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Major Projects Team in the planning, design and delivery of major capital projects. This position serves as the technical lead and is responsible for all infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on road and drainage infrastructure related projects. The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and construction of civil infrastructure projects and ensure they are completed in accordance with relevant standards and specifications. The Senior Civil Engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders and ensure the delivery of high-quality and sustainable civil infrastructure solutions. This position will specifically: Lead the design development of major civil infrastructure projects including preparing design briefs, engaging and managing multidisciplinary team of consultants to deliver designs of high quality. Develop project briefs, technical specifications and tender documents, and lead procurement processes to engage consultants and contractors. Manage consultants and contractors from design development to construction and handover phases. Assist in the delivery of infrastructure renewal and refurbishment programs to improve the functionality, safety and sustainability of Council's civil assets. Assist in research, planning, policy formulation, and implementation activities with respect to Council's civil assets and foreshore infrastructure, including the coordination of planning approvals, resolution of problems arising, and stakeholder liaison. Key Requirements Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia Experience in leading design and construction of major civil assets comprising road and drainage related infrastructure projects. Solid technical knowledge of road and drainage design, construction, asset management and traffic engineering related disciplines. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, contractors, and key internal stakeholders. Knowledge of WH&S legislation. Your commencing annual salary will range from $111,650.58 to $145,145.75 Leaseback vehicle Superannuation dependent on your experience and qualifications.
