This is a great opportunity to work with a global brand Your day to day We are looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join us at Holiday Inn Cairns Harbourside. Reporting to, and supported by the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall function of proactive sales, marketing and PR to drive measurable improvement in business performance, profitability and return on investment and support the continued development of the IHG brand within this region. You will develop Marketing and Sales budgets and forecasts, producing, implementing and monitoring action plans to ensure objectives are achieved. In addition, you will be analysing current and potential markets/trends whilst coordinating all activities to maintain and increase revenue and yield through added business volume and increased rate. You'll be an integral member of the hotel's management team, providing expertise and direction of all aspects of the Sales and Marketing activities in line with the overall business strategy. As part of the leadership team, you will support the operational departments throughout the hotel and ensure a smooth on brand guest journey. Maintaining Company Brand Standards, performing Market Analysis for your hotel and the planning, development and implementation of promotional strategies and marketing plans will be key parts of your role. Effective communication with the General Manager and close contact with key stakeholders, including owning companies and IHG corporate office is essential in the development of the hotels markets in line with overall strategic direction. Indirectly you will also be required to work with the Food & Beverage team to drive and maximise revenue opportunities for Restaurant and Bar, and MICE markets. This role will be target focused with clear requirements for reporting but also requiring the ability to adapt and change the hotels strategy in response to market conditions. About you - Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Sales and Marketing senior role. - You'll have excellent client management, financial and time management skills. - You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of various market segments. - A proven record as a hunter and converter of business. - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Ability to develop strategies and achieve set targets. - Opera system experience is preferred, however not essential.
